Short Description: Wells Paddle Sports is now recruiting for the Summer 2024 season! Are you ready to be part of Wells Paddle Sports? Join our dynamic team, introducing clients to the beautiful creeks and harbour of Wells.

The Company: Wells Paddle Sports operates out of East Quay Boat Yard. Our mission is to introduce people to the world of paddle sport that is in a fun and safe environment for both staff and clients. In order to achieve this, we will motivate and reward our employees to ensure that every customer has an exceptional experience.

The Clientele: Wells Paddle Sports welcomes a variety of customers such as, holiday makers, families, adults/ couples, day trippers, bird watchers, corporate groups and budding adventurers.

Role Description: A typical day in the role comprises of prepping, loading kayaks for kayak training sessions, meeting and greeting guests, delivering fun, safe and informative safety briefings. Supervising activities, following Health & Safety guidelines and best practices, adapting to weather changes and tides.

Who we are looking for: We require suitably qualified Instructors &  Leaders who are passionate and knowledgeable. Previous experience in facilitating group safety briefings for paddle sport activities is essential. Communication skills including active listening, giving and receiving feedback and clearly conveying expectations are important skills for applicants. Attitude, flexibility and humour are vital qualities of staff in the Wells Paddle Sports team.

More information: We are looking for paddle sport Instructors & Leaders for the summer season (10/06/2024 until 30/09/2024). We will be opening again in June 2025 and a successful candidates will be welcome to join our team again at that point. Days of operation are seven days a week with a staffing rota in place for time off. Start and finish times will vary as hours of operation are dictated by tide times.

Essential Qualifications:

·         Valid First Aid Certification

·         Paddle UK Paddle Sport Instructor (with current Paddle UK Membership)

Desired Qualifications:

·         British Canoeing Sea Kayak Coach (moderate weather)

·         British Canoeing Paddle Sport Leader

·         Power Boat Level 2
